Historic Pueblo Riverwalk
In 1921, a devastating flood ripped through Pueblo and uprooted most of the town’s infrastructure. After years of construction, the Pueblo Riverwalk revitalized parts of the historic downtown. Now, the area stands as one of the town’s most popular tourist attractions. On a walk through the 32-acre waterfront, one can visit numerous restaurants, shops, and boutiques. In addition, you can admire dozens of pieces of highly recognizable art along the way. Boat tours are offered for those who want a deeper lesson on the history, or a romantic evening for you and yours. Pueblo Weisbrod Aircraft Museum
Throughout World War II, the Pueblo Army Base acted as a major training ground for American pilots and crews. In 1972, the Pueblo Weisbrod Aircraft Museum was founded to pay homage to the people who served there. Furthermore, it showcases historic aircraft, vehicles, and artifacts. Uniquely, one can visit two indoor aircraft hangars as well as one outdoor exhibit. From workhorse vehicles like the Dodge M-37 to a huge fleet of aircraft such as a B-29 Bomber, T-28 Trojan, and A-26 Bomber—the original Weisbrod aircraft—this museum offers a rich look into the past. Take a tour, guided or on your own, and appreciate impressive memorabilia from WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, and Iraq.
Lake Pueblo, Colorado State Park
If you’re looking for an immersive outdoor experience, Lake Pueblo State Park has just about everything you could ask for. Explore the area’s 10,000 acres on land or water, as fast or slow as you like. Fire up the motorboat and rip across the lake towing water skiers and tubers. Or, set out on foot or mountain bike across the park’s vast trail system, pausing to marvel at the beauty of 200-year-old juniper trees. Talk about special and unique things to see in Pueblo Colorado! Rig up a fishing rod and see if you can hook into one or more of the lake’s walleye, bass, crappie, and trout. Bishop Castle

High up in the Wet Mountains, southwest of Pueblo, three stories of medieval-looking rock and iron tower above the landscape. The castle, built by Jim Bishop, is the culmination of a 40-year passion project sprung in the early 1970s. The project was initially planned to be nothing more than a water tank to support Jim’s personal cottage. It morphed into one of the biggest tourist attractions in the area. All visitors can come and admire the masterpiece free of charge, though donations are accepted. If you have the chance, take the trip up to witness the spectacle that is Bishop Castle. You won’t regret it!

Just a stone’s throw from Pueblo is Cañon City, home to one of the most premier rafting companies in Colorado. Arkansas River Tours offers an assortment of guided river trips.
