Multi-Day
Beginner / Intermediate
A 2 day whitewater adventure combines Brownās Canyon and Bighorn Sheep Canyon with camping at our riverside location in Cotopaxi. Each section provides a unique Arkansas River experience of varying scenery and rapids. The easy accessibility we have to these canyons from our location allows us to customize our trips to your groupās needs. We have a spectacular setting at our camping area below the Cotopaxi Cliffs for the exclusive use of our guests. We commonly view bighorn sheep coming down to the water to drink. We provide scrumptious meals and do all the cooking while you enjoy fishing, horseshoes or relaxing around the fire with river tales. Camping equipment rentals are available. Youāll get adventure, excitement, quality time with your group and much needed time in the outdoors.
Day 1 combines splendid whitewater rafting with spectacular views of the Sawatch Range containing some of Coloradoās highest peaks. We raft through fun Class III rapids such as Pinball, Zoom Flume, the Staircase and the infamous Seidelās Suckhole. This scenic canyon parallels the Brownās Canyon Wilderness Study Area and is now established as a National Monument. After your day of rafting you will have time to relax or play games around camp while you guides prepare your meal.
Day 2 launches beneath the dramatic Cotopaxi cliffs at our convenient riverside base. Floating past spectacular geological formations and views of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range we run exciting Class II-III rapids like Texas Creek, Maytag, and Devilās Hole. After a delicious buffet lunch we plunge into more demanding and technical rapids (Class III-IV): Prelude, 3 Rocks Falls, Spikebuck and Sharkās Tooth to name a few. Sightings of bighorn sheep are very common in this section.
Great trip for families, groups and adventure seekers of all levels. Donāt miss out on the best rafting Colorado has to offer!
