When you really need to unplug
The Gunnison Gorge, located below Black Canyon National Park in western Colorado, is a breathtaking 14-mile wilderness journey that boasts stunning scenery and is home to one of Colorado's top Gold Medal fisheries. Considered by many to be the most picturesque 3-day float fishing trip in the West, the Gunnison River fly fishing float trip is world-renowned for its abundant population of German Brown and Rainbow trout, with more fish per mile than any other Colorado river.
Float fishing is the only way to access several prime holding areas in the canyon, but there will also be plenty of fantastic wading opportunities along the way. Our 3-day Gunnison Gorge fly fishing trips provide ample time to walk-wade early in the morning and late into the evening after a leisurely day of fishing from our rafts.
We stop at various secluded water locations as we journey to a new campsite each night. Our guides select remote campsites for us where they prepare wholesome meals from fresh ingredients, and we spend our evenings conversing about the day's events, enjoying some quiet relaxation time, or continuing to fish during the evening hatch. The Gunnison Gorge features Class III rapids, which enhance the excitement of the trip. This is an opportunity that you won't want to miss!
