The Gunnison River is one of the most beautiful settings to take in the wonders of Colorado.  Adjacent to the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, the Gunnison River has recently been nominated for “Wild and Scenic” designation for its natural flow, scenery, geology, and 17,000 acres of surrounding wilderness.  What better place to reconnect with nature and inner peace than a backcountry river setting? The mellow waters of late-season provide for a soothing float during this Colorado yoga retreat.  In our eyes, yoga isn’t just about exploring the workings of body, mind, and breath, but workshopping your thoughts with other like-minded Yogi’s.  We’re all about disconnecting from the daily grinds of work, parenting, bills, and worries to help our guests become enlightened by their experience on the river.  Leave your cell phone behind, set your worries aside, and embark on a life-changing journey that is the Gunnison Gorge.

Emily is a passionate and dedicated advocate of health and success. She is a Certified Anusara Elements Yoga Teacher and 200RYT through the YogaAlliance. Emily also serves as a Certified Life Coach which stems from ancient Chinese Tradition. In Emily’s teachings, she offers flavors from her professional training, diverse personal practice, Yoga Nidra, meditation and connection to nature. 

Emily loves connecting with others and sharing her work in spiritual, emotional and physical practice. She is an avid outdoorswoman, wife, mother, and entrepreneur. She offers group classes, workshops, private yoga instruction, life coaching, and retreats.

 

Retreat Overview

Rafting Arkansas River Colorado, yoga near me, yoga near denver, Colorado yoga retreat, hot yoga Colorado Springs, yoga river retreatThis wilderness experience is a 3-day (2-night) Colorado yoga retreat.  Participants can expect to enjoy relaxing floats on the Gunnison River followed by yoga, delicious food, and secluded camping on sandy beaches in the evening.

Our staff has spent the last ten years perfecting our riverside menu.  Have special requests? We will do everything we can to accommodate special diets.  Our menu is healthy, nourishing, and fresh with local flavor accents. Throughout the trip, Emily has scheduled riverside yoga and mindfulness exercises to indulge your spiritual side.

Evening campfires are a time for connecting and raising discussions about self-wellness.  As the fire burns out, participants have spectacular views of the Milky Way Galaxy.  Crawl into the comfort and warmth of your sleeping bag embracing the respire of the cool, crisp, and refreshing air. While many of our guests prefer to bring their own camping accommodations, we also offer rentals. Detailed Itinerary

Day Time Event
Day 1: Anytime after 5 pm Optional: Arrive at Gunnison River Pleasure Park Campground. ($12/night, some camp the night before due to early departure.) Nearby lodging can be found as well.
Day 2: 6:30am Arrive at Gunnison River Pleasure Park if you haven’t already.
7:30am Shuttle leaves and drives to river put-in
8:30am Unload shuttle, meet guides, have snacks.
9:00am Hike into put-in
10:15am Arrive at put-in, finish rigging boats, Safety talk.
11:00am Opening gathering!!
11:15am Launch on the river!
12:00pm Stop for lunch
1:00pm Back on the river.
3:00pm Arrive at camp & set up.
4:15pm Yoga
5:30pm Appetizers, main course, etc..
6:00pm Eat & be merry
7:45pm Camp fire & relaxing
Day 3: 7:00am Rise & morning meditation
7:30am Breakfast
8:30am Pack up camp
10:00am Launch on the river!
12:00pm Lunch & journaling
1:30pm Back on the river
3:00pm Arrive at camp, set up.
4:15pm Yoga
5:30pm Appetizers, main course, etc..
6:00pm Eat & be merry
7:45pm Camp fire & mindfulness exercise
Day 4: 7:00am Rise & morning meditation
7:30am Breakfast
8:30am Pack up camp
10:00am Launch on the river!
12:00pm Stop for lunch, a hike at Smith, & closing mindfulness

3:00pm Arrive at take out
